Arafah is a small town located in central Jordan. It is best known for its annual Muslim pilgrimage, which takes place on the ninth day of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah. Every year, hundreds of thousands of Muslims from all over the world travel to Arafah to perform the Hajj, or pilgrimage to Mecca. The town is also home to a number of historical and religious sites, including the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad’s grandfather, Abu Talib.
