History of Halloween in Bangladesh and How to Celebrate/ Observe It
Halloween is not a popular festival in Bangladesh, however some people do celebrate it. Halloween falls on the 31st of October and is a holiday that is celebrated in many countries around the world. The word ‘Halloween’ actually comes from the All Hallows’ Eve, which is the day before All Saints’ Day.
All Saints’ Day is a Catholic holiday that celebrates all of the saints, known and unknown. In Bangladesh, Halloween is not as widely celebrated as it is in other countries. However, some people do dress up in costumes and go trick-or-treating. Trick-or-treating is when children dress up in costumes and go door to door asking for candy or other treats.
Halloween is also a time when some people play pranks on others. This can be anything from putting a spider in someone’s hair, to putting a whoopee cushion on a chair. Whatever the prank, it is all in good fun and everyone usually laughs about it afterwards.
So, while Halloween is not a hugely popular festival in Bangladesh, some people do still celebrate it in their own way.
