History of All Saints’ Day in New Caledonia and How to Celebrate/ Observe It
All Saints’ Day, also known as All Hallows’ Day, Hallowmas, the Feast of All Saints, or Solemnity of All Saints, is a Christian festival celebrated in honour of all the saints, known and unknown. The day first became associated with the Catholic Church in the early ninth century, when Pope Gregory IV ordered it to be observed on 1 November. All Saints’ Day is now also celebrated by many Protestant denominations, such as the Anglican Communion, Lutherans, Methodists and some Reformed churches.
