The Declaration of Independence in Venezuela was a document signed on July 5, 1811 by representatives of the Venezuelan provinces of Barinas, Barcelona, Mérida, Trujillo and Caracas. This Declaration is considered one of the most important events in Venezuelan history because it marked the beginning of the country’s journey to independence from Spanish colonial rule.
