Epiphany in Italy is celebrated on the 6th of January and is known as La Befana. It is a traditional holiday where an old woman gives gifts to children. The story goes that La Befana was visited by the three wise men on their way to visit baby Jesus. They asked her for directions and invited her to come with them, but she declined and said she had to clean her house first. She later regretted her decision and went looking for them, but she never found them. Instead, she started giving gifts to children in hopes that one of them would be Jesus.
