Epiphany, also known as Three Kings’ Day, is a Christian feast day that celebrates the revelation of God incarnate as Jesus Christ. In Poland, the feast is celebrated on January 6th, which is also the last day of Christmas celebrations. On this day, families gather for a special dinner and exchange gifts. A common tradition is to bake a special cake, called a “king’s cake”, which contains a hidden bean or coin. Whoever finds the bean or coin in their piece of cake is crowned king or queen for the day.
