Monaco National Day is celebrated every year on November 19th to mark the anniversary of the Grimaldi dynasty’s takeover of the country in 1297. The day is also known as Saint-Domingue Day, which commemorates the country’s patron saint.

The day begins with a Mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, followed by a procession of religious and civil authorities through the streets of Monaco. The procession ends at the Prince’s Palace, where the Prince of Monaco delivers a speech from the balcony to the people gathered below.

In the afternoon, there is a military parade down the main boulevard, the Avenue des Spelugues. The parade is followed by a flypast of military aircraft and a firework display in the evening.

National Day is a public holiday in Monaco, and many businesses and schools are closed for the day.
