History of National M&M Day and How to Celebrate/ Observe It

National M&M Day is celebrated on March 24th annually. This fun holiday celebrates one of America’s favorite candies, the chocolate M&M!

Mars Incorporated created the M&M in 1941. The candy was originally designed to be a military ration for soldiers during World War II. The chocolate was coated in a hard candy shell to prevent it from melting in the hot desert climate.

After the war, Mars began selling the M&M to the general public and it quickly became a popular treat. Today, there are over 400 million M&Ms produced every day in over 55 countries around the world!

There are many different flavors of M&Ms, but the original milk chocolate variety is still the most popular. On National M&M Day, take some time to enjoy your favorite flavor of this iconic candy!
