The Basilica of Our Lady of Suyapa is a Catholic church located in the city of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. The basilica is home to a statue of the Virgin Mary which is believed to have miraculous healing powers. The statue was brought to Honduras by a priest in 1747 and has been venerated by the people of Honduras ever since. Every year, on February 2nd, a large procession is held in honor of the Virgin Mary. The procession starts at the basilica and makes its way through the streets of Tegucigalpa, culminating in a mass at the cathedral.
