The Thimphu Drubchoe is an annual event that takes place in the capital city of Bhutan, Thimphu. It is a religious festival that celebrates the birth of Guru Rinpoche (also known as Padmasambhava), the founder of Tibetan Buddhism. The festival takes place over three days and features a number of traditional rituals and ceremonies, as well as cultural performances and feasts. On the first day of the festival, a large statue of Guru Rinpoche is carried through the streets of Thimphu in a procession. This is followed by two days of chanting and prayer at the Tashichho Dzong, the main Buddhist monastery in Bhutan.
