The Battle of Rivas was a battle fought on April 11, 1856, during the Costa Rican Civil War. It was fought between the forces of Costa Rican President Juan Rafael Mora and Costa Rican rebel leader Francisco María Oreamuno Bonilla. The battle ended in a victory for Mora’s forces, and Bonilla was captured and executed.
