History of First Advent Sunday in Germany and How to Celebrate/ Observe It
Advent Sunday is the first day of the Advent season in Germany. It is a time of anticipation and preparation for the coming of Christ at Christmas. Many people begin Advent by attending a special church service, lighting an Advent wreath, and decorating their homes with Advent calendars and Christmas trees.
Advent is a time of hope and expectation. We remember that Jesus came into the world as a baby, born to Mary and Joseph in a stable in Bethlehem. We also remember that Jesus will come again, to judge the living and the dead. As we wait for his coming, we prepare our hearts and minds for his kingdom.
